Initially constructed in 1990 as an addition to the local recreation and senior center, the Memory Square Park Pool was modernized to support an expanding user base. Following years of maintenance on a temporary PVC liner, the City of Louisville transitioned the facility back to a permanent, cement-based plaster finish.
The project aimed to modernize the 25-year-old facility by replacing a patchy PVC membrane with a permanent white plaster finish and high-visibility racing lanes.
Crews performed a complete pool restoration involving the removal of the old liner, hydro-blasting the substrate for superior adhesion, and hand-troweling a fresh plaster interior.
Originally built in 1990 as a municipal addition for area seniors and athletes, the pool required a durable upgrade to accommodate a growing community of users.
