Established in 1907, the YMCA of the Rockies modernized its 1960s-era aquatic center to address severe structural decay and a dated aesthetic. The original small-tile finish had failed after decades of use, leading to dangerous leaks and significant damage to the underlying concrete structure.
Correct severe water loss, repair a hole in the pool floor, and brighten the facility’s aesthetic from its original dark tile.
The team performed a total facility transformation by re-pouring deteriorated concrete, applying a custom Texture-Dek topping, and sealing the basin with the silky-smooth INTER-GLASS® system.
Decades of use had led to widespread tile failure, exposing deep structural cracks and causing water to rot the substrate.

“This leaves the pool interior silky smooth showing no evidence of the small 1’ x 1’ tile resting underneath it.”
