Mid-America Pool Renovation restored the historic City of Herington pool, a massive 1940s-era facility that had undergone numerous temporary repairs over its 60-year lifespan. Our team undertook a large-scale pool resurfacing and modernization to eliminate chronic algae growth and staining, replacing outdated painted markings with permanent, climate-durable materials.
The city sought a permanent solution for its porous plaster surface, which required constant maintenance and annual repainting of racing lanes.
The city opted for the INTER-GLASS® Surface System and New Tile installation to provide a vibrant, maintenance-free finish for both the main and kiddy pools.
Years of use had left the plaster surface porous and plagued by black algae, particularly in rough areas around closed-off fixtures.
