Mid-America Pool Renovation undertook a massive structural rescue for the City of Ipswich to save a municipal pool that was literally floating out of the ground. After years of severe water loss from cracked plumbing and shifting concrete, our team performed a full structural pool restoration that involved cutting away the raised portions of the shell and reinforcing the entire facility to survive the harsh South Dakota climate.
The primary mission was to stabilize a “floating” pool shell, stop catastrophic water loss, and replace the entire failing concrete deck.
The city utilized Hydro-Blasting prep (abrasive blasting) and the INTER-GLASS® Surface System to create a flexible, watertight interior that could withstand future ground movement.
The 12-foot deep end had buckled upward, cracking the main plumbing lines and leaving the L-shaped corner of the pool appearing as though it was falling away.
