Amazing Pools are Ready! Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center – Aurora, CO

Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center

Aurora, Colorado

As the Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center reaches completion and opens its doors to its first customers, excitement has been building around one of its most anticipated amenities.  This resort has over 20,000 square feet of heated luxury swimming pools allowing patrons to enjoy the beautiful mountain views and Colorado air even when the peaks are covered in fresh snow.

Brightview Landscape Development was tasked with creating the massive outdoor areas, along with all of the swimming pools and the numerous water features throughout the property.  When it came time to install the final and most important piece of the swimming pools – the interior SGM Diamond-Brite plaster finish that everyone will see and that swimmers will feel while using the pools – Brightview needed to find an industry expert to produce an impeccable finished product on a tight timeline.  SCP, a national supplier of the pool industry, pointed Brightview to Mid-America Pool Renovation, Inc.

According to Austin Kateusz, Mid-America General Manager, “We knew right away that this was a project we wanted to pursue because it would give us a chance to highlight our abilities in a market that is desperate for quality tradespeople.”  Mid-America arrived on site with 23 skilled tradesmen and an accompanying cohort of laborers, material, and equipment.  Jeffrey Stauffer, Brightview Superintendent, noted “When you see this many guys pull on site as a team excited to show off their artistic skill, you know that they truly care about their finished product.”

Southern Grouts and Mortars (SGM) – the manufacturer of the Diamond-Brite product – sent their Diamond-Brite expert, Philip Greggs, to inspect the finished product.  According to him “A lot of times you see large projects like this where you can see areas where the finishers had difficulties.  These pools look about as close to perfect as you can get.”
