Cooperative purchasing is a procurement method that allows eligible public agencies to purchase through contracts that have already been competitively solicited and awarded. Instead of conducting their own solicitation, eligible organizations may be able to use an existing cooperative contract in accordance with their state’s procurement laws and their own purchasing policies.
Sourcewell is a public agency that develops and administers nationally solicited cooperative purchasing contracts on behalf of eligible government, education, and nonprofit organizations. Its contracts are competitively solicited to help participating agencies streamline procurement while maintaining compliance with applicable purchasing requirements.
Eligible government agencies, school districts, colleges and universities, parks and recreation departments, nonprofit organizations, and other qualifying public entities may be able to use Sourcewell contracts if cooperative purchasing is permitted under their state’s laws and their organization’s procurement policies.
If you’re unsure whether your organization is eligible, we’re happy to help you determine whether Sourcewell may be an option.
No.
A Sourcewell contract does not automatically grant purchasing authority. Each organization must already have the legal authority under its state’s procurement laws and its own purchasing policies to participate in cooperative purchasing.
For many eligible organizations, cooperative purchasing can:
Not necessarily.
Each agency is responsible for following its own procurement policies and applicable state laws. Cooperative purchasing is one procurement option that may be available when those requirements allow.
The contract includes a wide range of commercial aquatic renovation services, including:
Yes.
One of the best times to begin the conversation is during the planning and budgeting process.
We can help evaluate existing conditions, discuss renovation options, develop preliminary budgets, identify potential project phasing, and answer questions about whether the Sourcewell contract may be an appropriate procurement option for your organization.
Absolutely.
Helping agencies understand their options is an important part of our approach.
Whether your organization ultimately uses the Sourcewell contract or another procurement method, we’re happy to answer questions, explain the cooperative purchasing process, discuss project planning, and provide educational resources to support informed decision-making.
We believe cooperative purchasing can make it easier for eligible public agencies to access specialized swimming pool renovation services.
Our goal is not simply to hold a cooperative purchasing contract. Our goal is to help agencies understand their procurement options, plan successful renovation projects, and preserve the aquatic facilities their communities depend on.
If you’re beginning to think about a future renovation, we’d love to start the conversation.
Whether you’re developing a long-term capital plan, preparing a budget, evaluating the condition of your facility, or ready to move forward with a project, our team can help you understand your options and determine whether the Sourcewell contract may be the right fit.
